Waiting for an ambulance 

Drunk and motionless

Although it happens less frequently than ten years ago, the first thing I saw yesterday when I left my flat, was a motionless person on the street. Most pedestrians stopped and tried to help, but the situation had already been under control: a shop-assistant had already rushed outside to see if the man was still alive. He felt his pulse and yes, he was still alive. But he was very drunk.

Another shop-assistant tried to call the ambulance. What was really shocking, though, was the fact that she was kept on the line for ages - no ambulance was available at the moment...
