Gedanken zur Gasproblematik / Thoughts about the gas "argument"

Manchmal fragt man sich ja wirklich... Seit geraumer Zeit wird von Russland aus in die Ukraine kein Gas mehr geliefert. Angeblich soll ja die Ukraine schuld sein - wenn ihr mich fragt, kann man - mal unabhängig davon ob das jetzt stimmt oder nicht - auf dem Rücken der Armen und Kleinen solche Streitigkeiten einfach nicht ausmachen. Naja, können schon (sieht man ja), aber gehören tut es sich nicht...

Noch ist auch in Rodyna alles in Ordnung, aber wie lange das noch so ist, hängt wohl auch ein großes Stück weit von den Gaslieferungen ab...

Meine Bitte an euch: Lasst das nicht auf euch sitzen - früher oder später könnte (und wird!) es auch uns betreffen! Schreibt e-Mails, nehmt an Demonstrationen teil und vor allem: rückt näher zusammen. Gemeinsam sind wir stark - auch wenn der Gashahn mal wirklich endgültig zu ist!

Helft einer alten Dame über die Straße, helft eurem Nachbarskind bei der Aufgabe, klopft bei der netten älteren Dame nebenan an und fragt, ob ihr etwas vom Supermarkt mitbringen sollt, geht nicht vorbei oder schaut zu, wenn jemand am Boden liegt und schon fast verblutet (so geschehen in der Weihnachtszeit in Wien) - helft! Es bedarf oft nur einer Kleinigkeit und meist kommt es zurück, wenn man Gutes tut.

Sometimes I just wonder what is going wrong... For quite a while now, Russia has been refusing to deliver natural gas to Ukraine. Russia says that Ukraine is (allegedly) responsible for this situation. However, if you ask me, they can't argue about these things on the expense of poor and tiny people (particularly not if people are tiny AND poor) - no matter if the accusations are justified or not. Well, obviously they can, but it's not really proper behaviour, is it?

At the moment, everything is fine in Rodyna. The question, however, is for how long it will be like that. A lot will depend on whether Russia will deliver gas to Ukraine or not...

I ask you not to wait until it gets worse - sooner or later it can (and will!) also affect us and the people around us. Write e-mails, attend demonstrations and, most of all: move closer together! Together we are strong - particularly when the gas tap is closed for good!

Help an old lady cross the street, help your neighbour's children with their homework, knock at your elderly neighbour's door to ask if you can get them anything from the supermarket, don't just walk away or stare at somebody who is lying on the floor and bleeding heavily (I couldn't believe it but this is what happened around Christmas time in Vienna!) - help! Sometimes it doesn't take much to help other people and in one way or another, something good will happen to you too.
